Plaj Bul

Plaj Bul (Sun Lounger Booking) is a comprehensive tourism platform designed to help users discover beaches along Turkey's Aegean and Mediterranean coastline, book sun loungers and umbrellas, and plan their beach experience. The project solves a problem that recurs every summer season: arriving at popular beaches and finding no space, price uncertainty, and last-minute planning ending in disappointment.

Turkey has 8,333 km of coastline, making it one of the world's most popular tourism destinations, hosting 57 million tourists in 2023. Yet the beach experience remains largely undigitized — sun lounger prices vary widely from beach to beach, availability information is unavailable, and bookings are made by phone or in person. Plaj Bul digitizes this analog process, offering a transparent, plannable, and guaranteed beach experience.

The platform includes five core modules: (1) Beach Discovery — map-based beach search, filters (price range, amenities, distance, rating), photo gallery, and user reviews, (2) Sun Lounger Booking — date/time selection, lounger type (standard, VIP, cabana), instant availability check, and secure payment, (3) Weather — 5-day beach-specific forecast, sea water temperature, UV index, and wind information, (4) Navigation — directions to the beach, parking information, and public transit options, (5) Social Features — beach ratings, photo sharing, and a favorites list.

Map-based beach discovery is powered by MapKit and CoreLocation, secure online payment by Stripe Payment, and a REST API integrates the beach venue database. Built on a 73-file codebase, the app supports iOS 15.0+. With a database covering 500+ beaches and facilities along Turkey's Aegean (Izmir, Mugla, Aydin) and Mediterranean (Antalya, Mersin) coastline, it serves 8,000+ active users during the seasonal tourism period (May–October).
