About the Project
What do you need to write a haiku? A syllable counter and a blank page. But existing note apps don't offer that simplicity — monospace fonts, complex menus, unnecessary features. Stanza is a carefully designed, minimal tool for writing poetry.
The syllable counter updates in real time as each line is written. There are separate modes for the 5-7-5 haiku guide, free verse, and prose poems. Typography options are chosen carefully: a choice between serif, sans-serif, and monospace, plus line-spacing control — all to keep focus on the text.
Hearing your own poem read aloud via TTS (Text-to-Speech) is the most effective way to catch rhythm errors. PNG export generates a typographic image ready for sharing. A daily prompt arrives at 7 AM to spark inspiration.
