About the Project
Written journaling is a habit most people abandon due to word-choice and grammar anxiety. Voice journaling removes this barrier entirely — speak, save, forget. But Rewind takes it a step further: on-device Whisper transcription, plus weekly summaries and mood mapping powered by Foundation Models.
The user speaks for just 2 minutes each day. The app processes recordings entirely on-device — no audio is ever sent to a server. Transcription produces searchable text. Foundation Models extracts standout themes, positive/negative sentiment trends, and recurring words from the week's recordings.
The "Rewind" feature automatically resurfaces the recording from the same date one year ago. This time-travel sensation — hearing how you felt 365 days ago alongside how you feel today — is the app's strongest retention mechanic.
